The Truth Will Make You Free

( Nancy Stone / Chicago Tribune / April 10, 2013 )

( Nancy Stone / Chicago Tribune / April 10, 2013 ) First lady Michelle Obama visits Harper High School in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood to talk with students about the plague of violence in their area.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:31-32  KJV

There is an article on Gapers Block that talks about why the community is in the shape that it’s in today. It was so pertinent, this propensity to become ostriches while we complain every minute, I had to show it to you. This truth is something we can’t continue to ignore. Regardless of whatever offenses we feel were endured, and yes, many are legitimate, you don’t continue to sit there and let it happen, wherever it may originate. If it originates in your house, in your neighborhood, or any other place, you deal with it. On the spot, because if you wait, you appear weak. That’s where the community stands right now. An aggregation of offenses [and inaction] over many years have culminated into what we’re dealing with today, what Michelle Obama cried over yesterday downtown. Here’s the transcript of her speech at the Hilton.

Wake up, people, save yourself – collectively! No one is going to do it for you. If you’re SET free, you can be UNSET. But if you’re MADE free, it’s not easy to undo what God has done. Think about it.

The problem with our nation as a whole is that we have forgotten God. We think we can run our lives by ourselves. We can do nothing outside God. When we bring Him back into the center of our hearts / lives, He will work things out in our lives.

Emanuel, that is so true. We can draw a timeline of disasters that run parallel with someone making a decision to remove a Biblical perspective from a governmental matter, or in fact, from any matter, and then we cry over the results. In John 15:5, Jesus said that without Him, we can do NOTHING. Thank you for stopping by!
