Political discourse without the spin.

December 31st is Coming Fast: Are We Ready?

Dec. 31st is coming fast!

Dec. 31st is coming fast!

The so-called ‘fiscal cliff,’ which we are all heading toward at breakneck speed — is it reality or hype? Yes, the House and the Senate postponed any important decisions until after the election last year, to make sure they were still in office, and to make sure [although they’re disappointed] that their guy was elected President. IT DIDN’T HAPPEN THAT WAY; NOW WHAT?

President Obama has extended at least 3 olive branches since his victory speech 1 1/2 weeks ago. He even invited some of the Republicans and their constituents to sit down with him and discuss their differences. However, as of Friday 11/16, they all blew town [see Politico article below], as if this is not the emergency they purport it to be.

To all of the elected officials — THIS TIME, leave the B.S. at home, come to work and get something done. Give the President his due respect, unlike your treatment during his 1st term, act as if you have home training, and get this thing settled in time. Don’t wait until the last minute to add some unnecessary spin on the matters at hand. And keep in mind –  last term, the President was trying to accommodate.  This time, if someone sticks their finger in his face, or interrupts him on the Senate Floor, they are subject to arrest, and should be if they can’t control themselves. He won, the people spoke, and the PACs just threw some money away that they could’ve donated to a good cause. Now, let’s get to work.  The world is watching you.
